Obituary for Jeffrey Blount Meadows

Fort Valley-Jeffrey Blount Meadows, 63, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, February 19, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Burpee-Scott Chapel. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm in Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
Jeff was born on July 2, 1953 in Hawkinsville to the late Daniel Nelson Meadows and Rachel Blount Meadows of Hawkinsville. He was retired from Hercules Chemical Company where he worked as a class A maintenance specialist. Jeff proudly served his country in the United States Army before being honorably discharged. He was an avid outdoorsman, Georgia Bulldog and Nascar fan. He could always be found on Sunday afternoon cheering on his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. In addition to his love for the outdoors and sports, his greatest passion were his two granddaughters: Mia Claire & Sadie Grace Morton. He was considered, in his mind, and by his family as a master chef. He grew up worshipping in the Baptist faith. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Chris Hildenburg.
In addition to his mother and granddaughters, Jeff is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Rita Odom Meadows, Byron; daughter: Jennifer Meadows Morton(Brian), Kathleen; son: Jason Lee Galvan, Fort Valley; 3 brothers: Tim Meadows( Carmen), Ray Meadows(Salain) & Howard “Spud” Meadows(Angie); nieces & nephews: Daniel Meadows, Matthew Meadows, Taylor Meadows, Morgan Meadows, Megan Meadows , D.R. Meadows, Jory Odom, Keara Odom, Sam Hildenburg, Ben Hildenburg, Rita Marie Odom & Rebecca Odom; his grand dogs: Tammy & Whoop.
