Obituary for Melvin Earl Stilley

Perry- Melvin Earl Stilley, 84, went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, February, 28, 2017 at 7:00 pm in Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor Jim Lane will be officiating. Inurnment will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 11:00 am in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville, GA.
Melvin was born on October 21, 1932 in Kankakee, IL to the late Stanley and Grace Winn Stilley. Among his many accomplishments, Melvin proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was a Purple Heart recipient.He retired after many years as an engineer with the rail road. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his friends. He had a very outgoing personality and truly had an impact on everyone he met. Melvin loved his church and church family, where he was very faithful in his attendance and giving of his time and talents. In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his three siblings.
Melvin is survived by several nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
