David Holly

David W. Holly, Jr., Funeral Attendant

David was born and raised in Rocky Point, North Carolina. After graduating from Burgaw High School, he attended James Sprunt Institute until choosing a career in the U.S. Air Force which lasted for more than twenty one years. 

During his distinguished military career he was assigned to bases in Texas, Taiwan, Georgia, South Carolina, England, and New York. After retiring in 1988 as a Senior Master Sergeant, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service until accepting a Civil Service position at Robins AFB. After a long career in Human Resources, serving as Chief, Personnel Readiness Operations Branch at Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, he retired in 2010.

David and his wife Marie have resided in Bonaire for over thirty years and are the parents of one son, Richard, who lives in Atlanta. They are also proud grandparents of two grandsons, Tyler and Ashton. David enjoys spending time with his family and his primary hobby is gardening.

David and Marie are long time members of Bonaire United Methodist Church, where he teaches an adult Sunday school class and serves as the Church Historian.  
He is also an active Mason and a member of the Middle Georgia Daylight Lodge no. 756 located in Bonaire.

As a member of the Burpee-Scott Funeral Home family, David considers it an honor to have the opportunity to serve and minister to all families in the Middle Georgia community. We are also honored to have David join the family at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel Funeral Home & Crematory, Houston County.
