Byron, GA – Bobby Allman Holcomb, Sr., 83, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 12, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his beloved family. Services celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 3:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with full military honors. The visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services. He will be laid to rest with a private family service in Oaklawn Cemetery. Reverend Wayne Holcomb will be officiating the services.
Bobby was born on July 19, 1939, in Byron, GA to the late Paul and Pauline (Ray) Holcomb. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Marines, where he retired as a Master Sergeant. Bobby was also retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base, where he worked as a Logistics Management Specialist. He also owned and operated H & H Land Development in Byron, GA. Bobby attended Elko Baptist Church faithfully through their online services due to being homebound. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances (Harper) Holcomb and his siblings.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Laura (Vierling) Holcomb of Byron, GA; children: Kim Holcomb Chastain of Montezuma, GA, Bobby Allman Holcomb, Jr. (Sabrina) of Byron, GA, Lilla Holcomb of Byron, GA, Ricky Holcomb of Byron, GA, Brian Holcomb (Nicole) of Byron, GA, Amber Holcomb Poole of Byron, GA, Sasha Holcomb of Byron, GA, and Kristin Wilson of Byron, GA; eleven grandchildren; Four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
