Obituary for Bobby Loyd Nichols II
Bobby Loyd Nichols II, most knew him as Nic, 67, died Thursday August 5, 2021 at Viera Hospital. Services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. The services will be a time of celebrating with family and friends each sharing special memories of Nic.
Bobby was born on October 5, 1953 to Bobby Loyd and Emma Nichols in Charleston, West Virginia. At 10 years old his family relocated to Indianapolis. Bobby faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force and specialized in communications. After 27 years, he retired from the Air force in 1999 as a Senior Master and Superintendent of the 53 Combat Communications Squadron Computer Systems. He moved from Warner Robbins, Georgia to Cocoa, FL in 2004. Nic had the kindest heart and was always ready and willing to help anyone. He never met a stranger and that is why he is loved by so many. He was always able to put a smile on your face with his charismatic charm. He was a jack of all trades and loved to tinker with his Lionel Trains. He enjoyed watching old westerns and Beverly Hillbillies. He had many passions to include boating, fishing, camping, gardening, working on cars, and drinking beer. Nic was a fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers. He was the crazy cat guy and loved his cats dearly. He was extremely family oriented and was immensely proud to have the Nichols name, and he was sure to remind all of his West “By God” Virginia roots.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 31 years Marie Nichols of Cocoa, and his daughter Erin Troup and her husband Bub of Kathleen, Georgia, his son Bobby Loyd Nichols III and his wife Allison of Coventry, Connecticut, his grandchildren Charissa, Haley, Tyler, and Savannah, his great-grandchildren Maddy and Hudson, his sister Linda Schafer and her husband Steve of Indianapolis, and his nephews Bob, Michael and Tommy.
