Obituary for Charles Morrison Gardner

Kathleen, GA – Charles Morrison Gardner, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 4, 2021 at the Houston Medical Center. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the safety and health of the family and their friends, a private graveside service will be held at Parkway Memorial Gardens on Thursday, January 7, 2021 with Reverend Fred McCoy officiating.
Charles was born on May 14, 1929 in Lancaster, SC to the late William Kirby Gardner and Carmen (Roberts) Gardner. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, where he retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. After serving in the military, Charles went to work at Robins Air Force Base in AFRES (Supply Support/Budget), from which he also retired after a successful career. He was a member of the Tyrian #111 Masonic Lodge in Warner Robins and was a Mason for over 50 years in good standing. Charles loved watching football, baseball, and golf on television, he enjoyed playing golf and camping in his spare time. He was an active member of Houston Lake Baptist Church. He was a former deacon, choir member and truly loved serving the Lord and others.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 71 years, Oveda (Hinson) Gardner of Kathleen; daughters: Debbie Edenfield Blocker of Warner Robins and Charline Logue (Jimmy Hagin) of Warner Robins; grandchildren: Christopher James Edenfield (Allie) and Jessica Danielle Logue (Cory Bard); great-grandchildren: Penelope Jo Bard and John Reid Edenfield; sister: Ann Lowery of Lancaster, SC, as well as other extended family and friends.
