Obituary for Curtis Clyde McCollum

Warner Robins, GA – Curtis Clyde McCollum, 88, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta, GA. Services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at The Assembly of Warner Robins at 11:00 am with a visitation for family and friends beginning one hour prior and immediately following the services. Curtis will be laid to rest beside his bride, Joyce, at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Reverend Wayne Hughes and Pastor Darrell Yarbrough will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Gideons International Processing Center, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines, those attending the services, face coverings and social distancing is recommended.
Curtis was born on August 17, 1932 in Opelika, AL to the late Isaac and Eula (Sumners) McCollum. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He earned a BBA from Georgia College and a BS in Biblical Education from Lee University. Curtis went on to work civil service at Robins Air Force Base, where he retired as a Maintenance Management Specialist in 1988. He was also Pastor for many years, having pastored Calvary Congregational Holiness Church. Curtis was a member of The Assembly of Warner Robins and the Faith Builders Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce (Spivey) McCollum.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Cheryl Hughes (Wayne) of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren: Christy Gulledge (Brandon) of Adairsville, GA, and Eric Hughes (Amanda) of Ashburn, GA; great-grandchildren: Luke, Sophia and Ella Gulledge, Caleb and Cohen Hughes; brothers: Johnny McCollum (Marlene) of Opelika, AL, Terry McCollum (Anna) of Montgomery, AL, and Isaac McCollum (Dee) of Tennessee; sisters: Jane Kisel (Richard) of Tennessee and Elaine Foster (Houston) of Gulf Breeze, FL.
