Obituary for Dean Michael Summer
Dean (Mike) Summer, 84, passed away on Thursday September 15, 2022 at his home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Dean was born on May 22, 1938 in Peoria Illinois to Earl and Levia (Foster) Summer of Washington Illinois. Dean was retired from the Army as a Mechanic and marksman in February of 1967. He worked for Caterpillar in Mossville Illinois in Truck Repair for 30 years before retiring in 1995. Dean enjoyed spending his free time woodworking and building things for friends and family and collecting duck memorabilia.
In the past several years he enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend Carol Gelling and his newly extended family in their home.
He was preceded in by his parents and both brothers. Left to cherish his memory is his girlfriend Carol Gelling of Warner Robbins GA, son Steve Summer of Washington IL, daughter Jodi Summer of Washington IL and his newly extended family Brandie, Jade, Parker, Krystal, Jerika, Dominick and Lilly.
