Obituary for Debra Ann Jefferson (Kersey)
Warner Robins, GA – Debra Ann (Kersey) Jefferson, 58, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Houston Medical Center. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Debra was born on January 5, 1961 in Kite, GA to the late Harley Kersey and Mattie (Caraway) Mason of Swainsboro, GA. She was very soft spoken yet feisty when provoked. Debra was known among her family and friends as a great cook. She loved her family very much, especially Arie, who she spent the most time. She was affectionately known as “nana” by her grandchildren and she had an amazing impact on everyone. Debra struggled early in life which caused separation and division in her family, but in that last few years, she went to great efforts to bring her family closer together. She was so excited about the pending birth of her grandbaby from her daughter, Stormy. In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Maliayh Miller.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Michael Mason of Swainsboro, GA, Leigh Bush of Atlanta, GA, Selena of Atlanta, GA, Donnie Bessent (Anthony) of Beaufort, SC, Stormy Bessent of Beaufort, SC, Jason Bessent (Ashley) of Warner Robins, GA and Takisha Bessent – Dugger (Marcel) of Warner Robins, GA; 22 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; her best friend of 30 years, Pearlie Rouise.
