Obituary for Donald Curtis Holt Sr.
Centerville, GA – Donald “Donnie” Curtis Holt, Sr., 78, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Perry Hospital. Services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory at 12:00 pm with a private interment with family only at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mikado Baptist Church, 6751 Houston Rd, Macon, GA 31216 or to the Peake Family Foundation, 103 Colony Ct., Macon GA 31210 – 1278.
Donnie was born on December 19, 1943, in Albuquerque, NM to the late Ophelia Curtis Holt and the late Martha (Chapman) Johnson. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. Donnie worked at Foxboro, Inc. as a systems engineer until his retirement. After retiring from Foxboro, Donnie worked at GA Power as a systems engineer and went on to serve as a doorkeeper for the House of Representatives in Atlanta. He served on the Regency Towers board of condominium association in Panama City Beach, FL for fourteen years. In his spare time, Donnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, listening to music, and computers. He had a giving nature, was a model granddaddy, and a faithful member of Mikado Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Donna (Loggins) Holt of Centerville, GA; children: Alicia Shepherd (Jerry) of Macon, GA, Donald Curtis Holt, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Nancy Crumpton Rollins (Chris) of Cairo, GA, and Tara Dent of Panama City Beach, FL; four grandchildren: Caylan, Tyler, Chase, and Amberly.
