Obituary for Donald Raymond "Don" Moore

Warner Robins, GA – Donald Raymond Moore, 64, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Heart of Georgia Inpatient Unit in Perry, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory, with services beginning at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Burpee-Scott with military honors. Reverend Thomas “Jim” Strickland will be officiating the services.
Don was born on January 1, 1957, in Sacramento, CA to the late Donald Ray and Almajean (Calvert) Moore. Don was a 1975 graduate of Warner Robins High School, where he marched in the marching band. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He also served in the Army Reserve. Don worked as an Electronics Technician and member of engineering teams for Northrop Grumman for 32 years until his retirement. He also served in the Army Reserve. In his spare time, Don enjoyed throwing darts in local dart leagues, bowling, and winning at blackjack. He was also an accomplished drummer who played for several bands both on stage and in the studio. Don will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth “Kitty” Rummel.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Amy Mize (Josh) of Watkinsville, GA, Kimberly Rae Moore of Warner Robins, GA, Tracy Budrow (Justin) of Fort Belvoir, VA, and Eric Moore (Cheryl Mullis) of Perry, GA; 8 grandchildren: Tyler, Kylie Rae, Kelson, Brooklyn, Jordan, Brayden, Dylan, and Bradley Ray; great-grandchild: Aela Ivy Moore; sisters: April Catlett of Macon, GA, and Yvonne Lynch of Warner Robins, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don’s honor to The Gift of Music Foundation Georgia organization that supports and promotes music education for children.
