Obituary for Donald Raymond O'Brien

Perry, GA – Donald Raymond O’Brien, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Perry Hospital. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. A service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Second Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Perdue and Rev. Trea Brinson officiating.
Donald was born on December 26, 1947 in Garden City, Michigan to the late Clarence Raymond and Allean Elizabeth (Sheffield) O’Brien. He was a 1967 graduate of Northside High School. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Donald retired civil service, where he was a Supervisor for the F-15 Program. Donald was an active member of Second Baptist Church and the Hope Builders Sunday School Class and was well loved by his church family. In his free time, Donald loved restoring his 1962 Impala SS, and spending quality time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Dennis O’Brien.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Diane Burgess O’Brien of Perry; daughter: Natalie Tambon (Dominick) of Savannah; mother: Allean O'Brien; grandchildren: Trent O’Brien (Karysa), Michael Peterson, MacKenzie Peterson, and Vivian Tambon; great- grandson: Logan O’Brien; mother: Allean O’Brien of Warner Robins; brothers: Charles O’Brien (Becki) of Milledgeville and Richard O’Brien of Warner Robins; sister: Ann Brinson (John) of Warner Robins; sister-in-laws: Brenda O’Brien of Warner Robins, Judy Perry (Al) of Bonaire, Becky Killian (Jerry) of Warner Robins, and Ginger Burgess of Thompson Station, Tennessee; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
