Warner Robins, GA – Donnie Claud Boyd, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 1, 2021, at his home in Bogart, GA. The visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel. The services celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 11:00 am at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel with interment immediately following at Magnolia Park Cemetery with military honors. Donnie was born on June 3, 1932, in Statham, GA to the late Claud and Mary Jane (Perkins) Boyd. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force until his retirement at the rank of Master Sergeant. Donnie loved the military and his country. While serving in the Air Force, he was an instructor of aircraft maintenance, specifically jet engines. After a successful career in the military, Donnie went on to work for Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery, where he worked in maintenance until his retirement. He was not one to sit around, so after his second retirement, Donnie began working for his long-time friend at Ace Hardware in Bonaire, GA. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. Donnie also enjoyed shopping yard sales looking for a bargain and gifts for family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 10 years, Hilda (Garrett) Boyd of Bogart, GA; children: Donna Tweedy of Fort Valley, GA, Kenneth Boyd (Mary Kaye) of Warner Robins, GA, Steven Boyd (Jodi) of Navarra, FL, Carol Barnette (Tim) of Bogart, GA, and Keith Boyd (Lori) of Richmond, KY; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers: J.P. Boyd of Bethlehem, GA, and Billy Boyd of Auburn, GA.
With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
