Fort Valley, GA – Edward Alan Copeland, 61, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Houston Medical Center after an extended illness. A celebration of life service will be held privately by the family.
Alan was born on February 4, 1961, in Tampa, FL to the late L.J. Copeland and Betty (Jenkins) Copeland. He was a 1979 graduate of Perry High School. Alan reconnected with his high school sweetheart Sheryl in 2007 and they quickly fell back in love all over again. They married in 2008 and he remained a wonderful, loving husband to her. Alan worked as the assistant market manager in the Publix meat department until his health began to fail. In his spare time, Alan enjoyed fishing, cooking, family gatherings, and traveling, especially to the North Georgia mountains. Most of all he loved being a father and papa to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Sheryl (Ashmore) Copeland of Fort Valley; daughter: Susan Blas of Warner Robins; son: Jason Copeland of Perry; mother: Betty Copeland of Perry; stepdaughter:
Elizabeth Rivera (Eli) of Tampa, FL; four grandchildren: James, Jasmine, Desiree, and Tyler; seven great-grandchildren.
A father like you is rare, one that’s so generous, smart, and kind. A father like you is what everyone needs, full of smiles and laughter, always doing great deeds. Nothing can replace a father like you, but when you get to heaven, God will be lucky to have you too.
With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
