Obituary for Elizabeth A. "Libby" McCarty
Warner Robins, GA- Elizabeth “Libby” Ann McCarty, 91, passed away peacefully in Warner Robins, Georgia on January 19, 2019.
Libby was born January 12, 1928 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Jessie and Evelyn Galey. Libby was preceded in death by her former husband and father to her children, James McCarty, sister Patti Lange, and her daughter, Debra Jo Dempsey.
She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her treasured family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Libby is survived by three daughters, Karen (Ken) Skogen, of Katy, Texas, Janet (Mike) Prewett, of Kathleen, Georgia, and Linda (Jeff) Ward, of Macon, Georgia, grandchildren, Laura (Bruce) Bowen, of Sugarland, Texas, Kelli (Jared) Cross, of Unadilla, Georgia, Chris (Ashley) Prewett, of Canton, Georgia, Michael Day, of Griffin, Georgia, great grandchildren, Connor Bowen, Gracie Day, Cami Cross, Cate Cross, Hank Cross, and Blakely Prewett, and nephew, Mark (Deborah) McCarty and Louisville, Kentucky. She also leaves many friends and extended family members who will sadly miss her.
A memorial service, celebrating the life of Libby, will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Warner Robins, Georgia. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
