Fort Valley, GA. –Estell Ray Shearer Jr. (78), passed away on Friday March 10, 2023. A memorial service will be held on Friday March 17, 2023, at 2:00pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Visitation will be one hour prior at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
Ray was born in Ashland, KY on July 30, 1944, to the late Estill and Anne (Clark) Shearer. Before owning and operating his own cleaning business, Mr. Shearer served in the Marines and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Ray enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Left to cherish his memory is his children: Charlene(Raymond), Tresia(Allen), Johnny (Crystal), Michael, Daniel, Sharry, Sussie, Debbie and James; Grandchildren: Missy, Kenny, Katie, Sam, Alxis, Nathaniel, Brianna, Morgan, Xavier, Steven, Jonathan, Marcus, Matthew, Jessie, Caleb, Alyjah, Maddie, Maylynn, and Mark; great grandchildren: Jasper, Payton, Westley, Jason, Branden, Milo, Alex, Audrey and Ava; In-Laws: Dusty, Kevin, Jimmy and Ruby; Brothers: James, Bobby, Rene and Danny Jo; sisters: Ann, Marie, and Shirley.
Ray is preceded in death by his wife Charlene (Poplin) Shearer; Children: Mark and Tony; Grandchild: Mark; Great Grandchild: Silas.
