Warner Robins, GA – Ethel Jean (Wells) Herndon, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Houston Medical Center. A service celebrating her life will be announced to family and friends at a later date.
Jean was born on January 13, 1940 in Thomaston, GA to the late Thomas and Mary (Ballard) Wells. She retired from Robins Air Force Base having worked in Logistics for many years. Jean was a member of Anchor Baptist Church where she enjoyed worshiping the Lord. She took pleasure in shopping, especially garage sales, reading, and attending church.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, sister, and granny who loved to be surrounded by those she loved. She dedicated her life to be the best mother and granny around. Her greatest joy came from spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren and her Pomeranian, Jeni. She had a loving heart and took great joy in caring for and giving to others. In addition to her parents, awaiting her at the gates of Heaven are her sister, Cecile Campbell and her brother, Thomas “Tommy” Wells that have gone on before her.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Jackie Herndon of Warner Robins; son: Boyce Lee Standard (Teena) of Chester, VA; daughter: Jalanda Goff (Jonathan) of Warner Robins; stepson: Kevin Herndon (Marie) of Brunswick; stepdaughter: Kim Herndon of Brunswick; grandsons: Jacob Goff and Joshua Standard; step-granddaughter: Maggie Herndon.
Contributions can be made in Ethel Jean Herndon’s honor to the Parkinson’s Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
