Obituary for Franklin "Buddy" Boone Leach, Jr.

Kathleen, GA – Franklin “Boone “Buddy” Leach, Jr., 59, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at his residence. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior and immediately following the services. Reverend Sarah McClelland-Brown will be officiating. Buddy will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Kindred Hospice, 105 Jim Mason Ct #100, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Buddy was born on May 11, 1961 in Dyersburg, TN to the late Franklin Boone Leach, Sr., and Rebecca Nell (Jenkins) Leach. He was a 1979 graduate of Thomasville High School, where he was a member of the marching band. In fact, Buddy had the distinct honor of playing the drums at the White House for then President Jimmy Carter. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Warner Robins, where he served as an elder. Buddy was a radio personality in Middle Georgia for 35 years. He was most recently working in sales for WMGT 41 in Macon. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for sixteen years. He had an infectious personality and everyone that met him grew to love him. He will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Dorothy Caroline (Wilhite) Leach of Kathleen; step-daughters: Kimberly Britt (Garry) of Perry and Christa Yaun (Trey) of Byron; step-sons: Brandon Bryant of Cochran, Adam Bryant of Cochran and Tyler Bryant (Christy) of Hawkinsville; 8 grandchildren: Mary, Olivia, Brantley, Bella, James Christian, Dakota, Greyson and Chase; sister: Rebecca Roche (Fred) of Tallahassee.
