Obituary for Gordon Edward Patterson
Gordon Edward Patterson, 87, passed away on December 6, 2018. Funeral services and interment with Military Honors will be held at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville on Monday, December 10 at 2:30 pm. Rev. Bucky Kennedy will officiate.
Gordon was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Seborn and Mallie Hosmer Patterson. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Gaylon Patterson and Donald Patterson and sisters, Edna Earl Patterson, Janelle Gregory, and Wynona Crowder.
Gordon Patterson (ret. MAJ) began his military career at age 15 when he joined the National Guard. He also served in the Army Reserve before enrolling in the Air Force Cadet program. After 22 years of military service, Gordon continued his government service as a civilian employee teaching electronics at Robins Air Force Base for more than 20 years. His service to his community included church youth leader and Boy Scout leader for many years.
Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 58 years, Emogene Spillers Patterson; children, James Patterson, Cindy Heath and husband Tim, Nancy Moseley and husband John, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
