Obituary for Irish Bazelle "I.B." Roberts Jr.
Byron, GA – Irish “I.B.” Bazelle Roberts, Jr., 91, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 22, 2022, at his residence. Services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 3:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with interment immediately following at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Dr. Mike Parker will be officiating the services. The visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. I.B. was born on February 27, 1931, in Macon, GA to the late Irish Bozelle Roberts, Sr. and Alma Faye (Thomas) Roberts. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. I.B. worked as an accountant for many years until his retirement. He loved the outdoors, especially when he was fishing or golfing, but he also enjoyed working in his yard and gardening. I.B. was a man of great faith and loved serving and worshipping the Lord at Byron Baptist Church. He was a former Deacon, church treasurer, and served on the finance committee.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Shirley (Grizzle) Roberts of Byron; daughters: Jennifer Bell (John) of Byron, and Wendy Wilson (Larry) of Warner Robins; son: Tim Roberts of Byron; grandson: Taylor Wilson (Hannah) of Warner Robins; great-grandson: Jed Wilson of Warner Robins; sister: Faye Adams of Macon.
