Obituary for Jack Marion Hutchens

Byron, GA – Jack Marion Hutchens, 83, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 8,2021 10:00 a.m. at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Jack was born on June 23, 1937 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Brewer and Minnie Hutchens (Easterling). Jack was a proud retired U.S. Army veteran, having served tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He was wounded in combat and received a Purple Heart for service to his country. In retirement, he enjoyed flying his Cessna airplane. He enjoyed hunting and being in the outdoors in Alaska. Jack served others by fostering many children. After marrying his wife, Brenda, they pastored in Alaska serving the homeless and those in need. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his son, David Hutchens.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 28 years, Brenda Hutchens(Lawrence); his children: Deborah Tom (Millard),Big Lake, AK; Cynthia Lee, Fairbanks ,AK; Cathleen Hutchens, Washington State; Karen Roman (Angel),Wasilla, AK; Kimberly Hutchens, Titusville, FL; Annie Poe, Anchorage, AK; Georgianne Glover, Anchorage, AK; Frank Hutchens, Anchorage, AK; John Hutchens, (Rachel), North Pole, AK; Vicki Gearing, Anchorage, AK; Wendy Rothenhoffer, Byron, GA; Robert Rothenhoffer, Macon, GA; and many grand and great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
