Warner Robins, GA – James “Jim” Elwyne Davis, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Serenity Place Hospice in Dublin, GA. The viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. The services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with interment immediately following at Bowers Cemetery in Empire, GA. The Reverends Darrell Yarbrough, Richard Azbell, and Glynn Grantham will be officiating the services. Jim was born on December 12, 1937, in Empire, GA to the late George Elwyne and Georgia Ellen (Watkins) Davis. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was retired from AT&T after a long and successful career. Jim was a faithful and active member of The Assembly at Warner Robins, where he was a former choir member. He also was a member of the Faith Builders Sunday School Class and the Oasis Senior Group. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Dorothy “Dot” (Ross) Davis of Warner Robins, GA; sons: Greg Davis (Cynthia) of Kathleen, GA, and Jonathan Davis (Tonia) of Kathleen, GA; grandchildren: Ben Davis (Esly), Levi Davis (Amy), Darlyn Davis, and Madi Davis; brother: Bill Davis (Deborah) of Cochran, GA.
