Obituary for James Wayne Dickson
Byron, GA – James “Wayne” Dickson, 66, passed away in peace on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Pruitt Health in Macon, GA. The services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Free Point Church,1929 Marshallville Rd, Perry, GA 31069
Wayne was born on November 1, 1956, in Warner Robins, GA to the late James and Reba Justus Dickson. Wayne spent over 35 years of his career in the aviation field and many years at Dickson Lucky Foods in Bonaire. He loved the UGA Dawgs, Rock n Roll, and having an ice cold Budweiser “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere.” He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, cooking, carpentry, and decorating for the holidays. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Lane Dickson and his grandson, Bryan Dickson.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Stacy Dickson Carlson (John), Acworth, GA; Steven Dickson, Bonaire, GA; James Robert Dickson, Byron, GA; Ryan Dickson (Sarah), Westmoreland City, PA; and Jayme Dickson (Tori), McKeesport, PA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his brother, Jerry Dickson (Kathy), Elgin, IL.
