Obituary for James Willis McCrary

Warner Robins, GA – James “Jimmy” and Carol (Clifford) McCrary, passed away within hours of one another, at home with their family at their bedside. Carol passed on July 9th and Jimmy went to be by her side on July 11th, after long battles with chronic illness. A memorial service celebrating their lives will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with Reverend Jay Lauritsen officiating. Visitation for family and friends wil be held an hour before service time. Jimmy will be honored with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
Carol was born on August 18, 1951, in Great Yarmouth, England to the late Thomas and Beryl (Manning) Clifford. Jimmy was born on June 30, 1950, in Americus, GA to the late James and Ida (Pilcher) McCrary. Carol worked as a dietary aide at Perry Hospital until her retirement. Jimmy faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, where he retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. Carol loved everything England and was so proud of her birth country, she also enjoyed tending to her garden and bopping about to a good tune, usually by Bryan Ferry. Jimmy was an avid motorcycle rider, loved watching a good English soccer match and the tunes of Eric Clapton. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Kyle L. McCrary.
Left to cherish their memory are their children: Thomas McCrary of Denver, CO and Danielle McCrary of Warner Robins, GA; granddaughter: Dominique Browning of Warner Robins, GA; great-granddaughter: Scarlett Browning of Warner Robins, GA; sisters: Hilary Tydd of Tucson, AZ and Sheelagh Clifford of Great Yarmouth, England.
