Obituary for James "Jim" McCullough

Centerville, GA - James Raymond McCullough Jr. passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2022. Born June 15, 1951, in Macon, GA to James Raymond McCullough Sr. and Ruby (Harrell). After graduating from Lanier High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his full, adoring family including his wife of 20 years Debra McCullough and her children Robin Bailey (Ted), Tracy Tjon (Jeremy), his children from his previous marriage to Carrie Fountain, Sarah Parham (Bert), James McCullough (Jamie), Rachel Reed (Nate), 14 grandchildren (Temperance, Joseph, Ezekiel, Rainie, Reagan, Raelyn, Andrew, Natalie, Will, Anika, Lydia, Briggs, Gage, Owen), and his siblings Joy Day (Kenny), Jan McCullough, Barbara McGahee (Jack) and Ernie Crawford.
He graduated with a degree in Engineering from Ft. Valley State University, and he retired from TRW and Northrop Grumman as an electrical engineer. He was also a longtime active member and amen-er at Southside Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA. He demonstrated his love for the Lord and others through his servant’s heart and extravagant generosity, embodying Matt 25:35 “For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” The family is resting in the assurance that he is enjoying his heavenly inheritance, free from pain.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday August 23, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel, with Pastors Jerry Walls and Dennis Clark officiating. Any donations may be made to Southside Baptist Church at 1040 S. Houston Lake Rd. Warner Robins, GA 31088.
