Obituary for James William "Oz" Osborne Jr.

Molena, GA – MSgt. James William “Oz” Osborne, USAF (Ret.), 79, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Pine Pointe Hospice after an extended illness. Services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 7:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with Glenn Osborne officiating the services. The viewing for family and friends will be held one hour prior and immediately following the services. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Shirley on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Molena City Cemetery with full military honors.
Oz was born on January 6, 1944, in Jacksonville, FL to the late James William Osborne, Sr. and the late Helen (Rehberg) Walters. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force where he retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his military career, Oz worked at Zantop Airlines for seventeen years and another two years in civil service at Robins Air Force Base before finally retiring, He enjoyed BBQing, woodworking, and tinkering on anything with an engine. Oz loved animals and was a bluegrass music fan. In addition to his parents, Oz was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Ann (Scott) Osborne.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Glenn Osborne (Karen) of Ormond Beach, FL and Michael Osborne (Kim) of Fort Valley, GA; daughter: Tanya Amos (Alan) of Warner Robins, GA; six grandchildren: Amber, John (Melissa), Ava, Savannah, Will, and Anna Belle; five great-grandchildren: Victor, Audreanna, Eli, Magdalena Rose, and Evangeline Grace.
