Warner Robins, GA – Janice (Cadwell) Coker, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2019 surrounded by her family. Janice was born on November 25, 1935 in Wilcox County, GA to the late James and Mary Elizabeth (Suggs) Cadwell. She retired as a supervisor from Robins Air Force Base, after which she obtained her license as an LPN, where she served many geriatric patients. Janice loved serving people, but her first love was her God. She was a former member of Green Acres Baptist Church, where she served as an AWANA leader. Janice most recently was a member of First Baptist Church of Haynesville. She has always been active in her church and other ministries. She served with the Women’s Missionary Union and taught high school girls Sunday school. Janice will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Edmond “Eddie” Coker of Warner Robins, LaDonna Strickland of Macon and Alicia Selle of Warner Robins; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Please visit to sign the online guestbook, view the video tribute and to leave a memorial for the family. With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.

Dear Family,

Please accept my condolences. The sting of death is hard to bear. Our Heavenly Father, Jehovah, understands our sorrow. He doesn’t want us hurting. In fact, in His Word, the Bible, He gives us encouragement. It’s explained in His Word about why death and suffering happen. Additionally, He helps us to understand that this was not meant to be. Acts 24:15, in the Bible, notes that there will be a resurrection! Revelation 21:4 mentions that our Creator promises that death, mourning, and pain will be things of the past. What’s more, 1 Corinthians 15:26 confirms that death will be brought to nothing. Imagine that! A world in which there’ll be no more death. Can you picture it?

I am encouraging you to take heart! Currently, your loved one is now resting. But, in the very near future, that loved one will be raised---resurrected---to the prospect of living here, on earth—FOREVER! This is a PROMISE from our Creator, HIMSELF! Isn’t that wonderful, good news? I hope these words of encouragement have done for you what I have intended for them to do. And, that is, to provide you with some comfort, peace, and strength. For further spiritual information and encouragement, I invite you to visit

Thankful that Mrs. Coker is "perfectly" healed in heaven now! One day, as believers in Christ, we will all be reunited again! One of my favorite memories that stands out was going over to the Coker's house with Rick & Alicia after SUN night church at Northside Baptist when I was a teenager. Mrs. Coker pulled out the PET brand "ICE MILK".........I had never heard of "ice milk" was a yummy SUN night treat! :-) They were great folks and I'm thankful I got to know Mr. and Mrs. Coker all those years ago!

So sorry for your loss LaDonna and Family. I am so blessed to have gotten to meet your mom last summer and to experience what a sweet lady she was and how that shines through you. The Lord will take good care of her. Love you !
