Obituary for Jason Duane Shaw

Perry, GA - Jason Duane Shaw, 49, was born on August 9, 1972, in Macon, Ga. At the time of his passing, he had been a resident of Perry, Ga for ten years. Jason graduated from Southwest High School in 1990. He is well-known for his many years working in sales at Circuit City, where he could sell a popsicle to an Eskimo. He was most recently employed for 11 years by Peach County 911 as a supervisor. He has always been a well-loved and respected coworker who put his heart in his occupation. Jason was a loving husband to his wife, Amber, never allowing her to pump gas, take out the trash or carry groceries. The highlight of Jason’s life was being a husband and a proud father. He loved watching his sons play baseball and ride their ATVs. Nothing made Jason prouder than the accomplishments of his children. Jason was a huge fan of the Perry Panther’s High School Baseball Team, who his oldest son, Carson, plays for. Jason always wore a baseball hat and chewed on a toothpick. He enjoyed classic rock, cleaning his truck, taking his wife out to eat, and visiting the beach. Jason was a great friend to all and often greeted others with a hug.
Jason is preceded in death by his mother, Yonna Windham Shaw. He is survived by his wife, Amber Jo Shaw, and their three sons, Carson Duane Shaw (15), Hilliard Michael Shaw (10) and John Douglas Shaw (6); his parents, Michael and Robin Shaw, and Johnny and Jackie White; his sisters, Christy Whited (Chad), Natalie Gibson (Blake), Heather White and Hannah White; his brothers, Justin White, and Matthew Lang; many aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; and cousins. Jason’s family rejoices in the fact that he is a saved Christian.
The visitation for family and friends will be held at Burpee-Scott on Friday, September 24, 2021, from 6:00-8:00pm. The celebration of Jason’s life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 11:00am in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Centerville. Jason’s family would like to honor first responders and encourage them to wear something representative of their occupation (uniforms are welcome). In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a savings account entitled Amber Shaw for the benefit of the Shaw children’s education at Colony Bank and Trust, 200 Gunn Road, Centerville, Ga 31028 attention: Jackie White.
