Obituary for Jerry Clayton Bryan

Jerry Clayton Bryan, 90 passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 with his family at his side. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Fort Valley with Reverend Danny Stubbs officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services.
Born April 18, 1934 in Marshallville, Georgia to the late Thelmon Clayton Bryan and Frances “Tiny” Vining Bryan. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Valley and a member of the Frank Withoff Sunday School Class. Jerry retired as the Peach County Road Superintendent after 34 years of service. He served as volunteer firefighter with the Fort Valley and Peach County Fire Departments and also served as a member of the Peach County Sheriff’s Auxiliary. An avid outdoorsman, his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. After official retirement, operating heavy equipment for the Hancock Family Farm remained his true passion well into his latter years.
Jerry is survived by his three loving and devoted sons, Edgar Clayton Bryan (Sharon), Steven Mark Bryan, and Jeffery Todd Bryan (Wendy). Grandchildren, Melissa Alden (Travis), Clay Bryan (Amber) and Laura Liz Bryan. Great-grandchildren, Taylor Alden, Ross Alden, Harris Bryan, and Mattie Bryan. Sister, Frances Bryan Bowden (Ronnie). Sister-in-law, Helen Bryan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Marie (Anthoine) Bryan, parents Thelmon Clayton Bryan and Frances “Tiny” Vining Bryan, and brother David Charles Bryan.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire Georgia Hospice Care Team for the incredible amount of love and compassion shown to daddy during his last days.
