Obituary for Jerry Adam Wielgus

Jerome “Jerry” Adam Wielgus Jr., age 59, of Warner Robins, GA, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022. Jerry was born on August 26, 1962, in Gary, Indiana to the late Jerome Adam Wielgus and Ruby (Joiner) Wielgus.
Jerry honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked at Dixie Dairy in Gary, Indiana for a number of years and later as a professional truck driver. Jerry was a self-taught accomplished guitarist who loved all music, especially Classic Rock, Country, and Southern Rock. His love and talent were often seen and heard within the various bands he played.
Jerry enjoyed working on cars, riding his motorcycle, fishing, bowling, and watching his favorite teams - the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs (when they won the World Series). Jerry had a contagious sense of humor and he could make just about anyone laugh with his catchy songs. Jerry was an animal lover and would often come home with new pets. Jerry’s greatest joy came from his family. He loved being “Pops” to his grandchildren and especially enjoyed sharing his ice cream with them.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 35 years, Laurie (Hadarich) Wielgus of Warner Robins; children: Jessica Lynn Wielgus Hecker (Shane) of Atlanta, Adam Jerome Wielgus (Ashley) of Kathleen, and Melissa Suzanne Wielgus of Centerville; seven grandchildren: Ethan, Maddie, Lainey, Colton, Jordan, Matthew, and Ivy; sisters: Mary Smith (Bryan) of Warner Robins and her children (Elizabeth, Caryn, Kathleen, Michael, Julia) and Deborah Wielgus of Byron; mother-in-law: Suzanne Hadarich of Warner Robins; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 5:00 pm at the Wielgus Residence for his family and friends.
With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
