Warner Robins, GA- Jimmy Brown was born on February 29, 1960, to the parentage of the late Leroy Brown and Mervie L. Coney Brown in Augusta, Georgia. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Julia Diane Boyd. Jimmy received his early education in the Richmond County/South Carolina School System and later attended Mercer University, eventually earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Macon State College, where he majored in Computer/Information Technology.

Jimmy was a soft-spoken and gentle man with a big heart and best known for his love and dedication to his family. He married the love of his life Tonya in 1988. They enjoyed 34 years of marriage. From their union came two beautiful daughters, Ashlee and Aeriel, who were his pride and joy and who he got to see both graduate from college.

Jimmie was a hard worker; he was smart and very technologically savvy. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force, where he retired after 21 years of distinguished service at the rank of Master Sergeant. After serving in the military, Jimmy became a civil service employee at RAFB. He was employed as an IT Specialist in the 78th Air Base Wing Communications Directorate, where he was the Application Support Team Lead for the e2875 enterprise application, which is used across the Air Force.

Sixty years of a fruitful and useful life ended on Sunday, August 23, 2020, when Jimmy was called from his earthly home. Those left to cherish his memory are many, including His loving, caring and devoted wife Tonya Brown; two adoring daughters, Ashlee Brown - Walker (Darius), and Aeriel Brown; Nine siblings, Henry Crawford (Susanna), Leroy Reginald Brown (Renee), Leroy Daniel Brown (Kimberly), James Anthony Brown (Brenda), Corey Frazier, Joan Delores Crawford Mims (Frank), Julia Brown, Sylvia Brooks (Melvin), and Angela Jeanette Brown; An Aunt, Bernice Coney and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A graveside service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11:00 am at Magnolia Park Cemetery with Pastor Tolan J. Morgan officiating.

With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.

I never worked closely with Jimmy at Robins AFB, but occasionally, we would pass in the hall or see each other at a meeting. He was a very kind man, and I always thought very highly of him. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

I came to know Jimmy at Robins AFB and for a time I was his first line supervisor. Jimmy was more than an employee but a member of our work family and I was blessed to know and work with him. He was a true Wingman who was always helping others, leading by example, and ensuring the mission was accomplished. I considered Jimmy a friend more than anything and I am very saddened he is no longer with us. I pray God's comfort, peace, and strength for all the Brown family. May your memories of times shared together eventually bring smiles and joy and replace the pain of your loss.
