Perry, GA – Joanne Chamlee Parker, 79, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Atrium Health Navicent following an extended illness. Funeral services will be private, however family and friends will be welcome to attend a celebration of life on her birthday, May 21, 2023. Joanne was born on May 21, 1943, in Vienna, GA to the late James Gifford Chamlee and the late Mary Louise (Ratterree) Chamlee. She was the owner/operator of several different antique malls across several states. Joanne attended Haynesville Baptist Church as often as she could, until her health began to decline. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Joanne will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Vernon “Vern” Lee Parker of Perry, GA; daughter: Melanie Lewis (Joey) of Bonaire, GA; son: Gifford “Giff” Neal Parker (Alison) of Darwin, Australia; five grandchildren: Steven Lewis, Captain Justin Lewis, USAF, Ozora “Zoe” Parker, Elora “Ellie Jo” Parker, and Julia Parker; brother: Earl Chamlee (Joan) of Perry, GA; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
