Byron, GA – Joseph Kenneth Granger, 80, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022, at the Houston Medical Center. Services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 11:00 am at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with Bishop Timothy Gray and Pastor Daron Gray officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services.
Joseph was born on December 4, 1941, in Thomaston, GA to the late Joseph and Florine (Swink) Granger. He worked hard all his life providing for his family. Joseph was the former project manager for Old Tradition Builders. In his spare time, he enjoyed coaching little league, cheering on his favorite sports team, Florida Gators, Atlanta Braves, and the Atlanta Falcons, and watching Nascar racing. His greatest joy came from his family. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Ken Granger.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Janet (Bishop) Granger; children: Cheri Granger Smith, Brian Granger (Elizabeth), Jeff Murphy (Kay), Tina Alvarez, Tim Rollins (Kristy); 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
