Obituary for Joseph Christopher Welch
Perry, GA – Joseph Christopher Welch, 37, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 20, 2022. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 10:00am – 11:00am at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. A service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 11:00am at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Burial will follow at Georgia Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville. Reverend Jamie Powell will officiate.
Joseph was born on June 18, 1984, in Victorville, CA to Steven Green Welch and Pok Nan Ulrich. He was a proud 2002 graduate of Northside High School. He received his Associates Degree in Engineering and transportation. Joseph served in the United States Air Force. In his spare time, he enjoyed being creative by building and designing. Joseph served as a volunteer basketball coach and tutor. Joseph was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Larry, and Roberta Welch.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Yackima Saura-Welch, Perry GA; his parents: Steven Green Welch, Warner Robins, GA, and Pok Nan Ullrich, Yorkville, IL; his brother, Jonathan Ullrich, Somonauk, IL; his sister, Abigail Ullrich, Somonauk, IL; his father & mother in-law, Gerald & Jackie Norris, Perry, GA; his brother in laws: Carlos Saura (Shayla), Jacksonville, FL; Luis Saura(Darla Pitts) Statesboro, GA; 3 nephews: Remington, Trey & Elijah; and 2 nieces: Emani & Priscilla.
