Obituary for Joy Williams (Shepard)
Macon, GA – Joy (Shepard) Williams, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the Atrium Health Navicient in Macon, GA. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 3:00 pm at First Baptist of Warner Robins with Pastor Casey Matthews officiating. The viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to the services, beginning at 2:00 pm at First Baptist of Warner Robins.
Joy was born on January 10, 1943, in Chester, GA to the late Eli and Gladys (Arnold) Shepard. She worked many years as a supervisor for Southern Bell. Joy was an avid athlete excelling in various sports, especially basketball. She enjoyed traveling and gardening in her spare time. Joy was a very selfless and generous person, who always put others before herself.
Left to cherish her memory is her sisters, June Klavon (Michael) of Savannah, GA, and Betty DePhillips (Terry) of Canyon Lake, TX; nephews: Todd and Eric Dalton; great-nieces: Ashley DeLeon and Morgan Dalton; several cousins and extended family.
