She loved to crochet and throughout her life made an assortment of items to give to comfort others. She loved her friends at The Crochet Club of Middle Georgia. Joyce was also involved with her husband in NARFE Chapter 1020 and was the Alzheimer’s Committee Chair where she spearheaded raising money for Alzheimer’s on behalf of NARFE.

Joyce is survived by husband Charles Farmer (Warner Robins, GA), daughter Alesha Mathis/Andy Mathis (Warner Robins, GA), son Robert Farmer/Michelle Farmer (Augusta, GA), adult grandchildren Christian Noble/Sarah Noble (Warner Robins), Michelle Mathis Lynch/Layne Lynch (Elkridge, Maryland), Lilly Farmer (3), and great-grandchild Daniel Noble (4).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association through the NARFE Chapter 1020 website (http://narfe1020.org/). The family would also like to encourage anyone who is considering being an organ donor to do so. It gives families more time.
