Obituary for Joyce Ann McCollum (Spivey)
Warner Robins, GA – Joyce Ann (Spivey) McCollum, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at The Orchard At Stone Creek Assisted Living in Hahira, GA. Services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at The Assembly of Warner Robins at 1:00pm with a private interment following at Magnolia Park Cemetery immediately following the services. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services beginning at 12:00 pm and immediately following the services at The Assembly of Warner Robins. Reverends Wayne Hughes, Darrell Yarbrough and Glynn Grantham will be officiating the services. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Orchard At Stone Creek, 4900 Tillman Crossing, Hahira, GA 31632.
Joyce was born on August 27, 1932 in Soperton, GA to the late Clarence and Wynelle (Thigpen) Spivey. She moved to Warner Robins in 1945, where she was a 1949 graduate of Warner Robins High School. Joyce was a former employee of Warner Robins Supply and Bryant Enterprises before she began her career at Warner Robins City Hall from 1972 – 1992 when she retired. Joyce was a faithful member of The Assembly of Warner Robins and the Faith Builders Sunday school class. She was one of the friendliest and Godliest women you will ever meet. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Roberts; brother-in-law: C.T. Roberts and nephew, Carey Roberts.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Curtis C. McCollum of Warner Robins; daughter: Cheryl Hughes (Wayne) of Valdosta; granddaughter: Christy Gulledge (Brandon) of Adairsville; grandson: Eric Hughes (Amanda) of Ashburn; great-grandchildren: Luke, Sophia and Ella Gulledge, Caleb and Cohen Hughes; nephew: Glenn Roberts (Jo Beth) of Macon.
