Obituary for Kathleen Ann Raymond (Whirley)
Kathleen A. (Whirley) Raymond, 61, of Kathleen, Georgia passed away peacefully in her home and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 21, 2022, after a long painful battle with kidney cancer. She was born in Lewiston, Maine on June 21, 1960, the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Jacqueline L. (Trepanier) Whirley. She was married for 43 years to her husband Paul R. Raymond. Together they raised two wonderful children, Sean, and Celeste.
Kathleen graduated fifth in her class from Saint Dominic’s Regional High School in 1978. Upon graduation, she attended Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute (CMVTI) where she studied nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She then joined her husband in Warner Robins, Georgia where he served in the United States Air Force, and she worked as a nurse in that area. She later worked as an LPN at Pineland Center in Pownal, Maine.
Kathleen left nursing to homeschool and care for her children. She enjoyed camping, canoeing, biking, traveling, and walking the ocean shores collecting beautiful seashells. Most importantly, Kathleen was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Paul Raymond of Kathleen, Georgia, their son, Sean Raymond and partner Shayla Jones of Bellingham, Washington, their daughter Celeste True and her husband Nick True, and two grandchildren, Jordan and Caleb True all of Kathleen, Georgia. Her brother and sister-in-law Daniel (Josie Sorono) Whirley of Fayette, Maine and many aunts, cousins, sisters’ in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Kathleen will be laid to rest at St. Peters Cemetery in Lewiston, Maine at a later date with immediate family and invited guest.
