Warner Robins, GA- Lonnie Alonza Simmons, 68, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, GA. A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 am in the Walnut Cemetery in Unadilla, GA.
Lonnie was born and raised in Unadilla, GA on September 26, 1949 to the late George and Alice (Day) Simmons. He was a hardworking man who worked in construction for 44 years. When he wasn’t working he could be found hunting and collecting arrowheads. Lonnie was a member of the Unadilla Baptist Church in Unadilla, GA. He loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy and Larry Simmons.
He is survived by his brothers: John Simmons (Ann) of Columbus, GA, George Simmons of Lilburn, GA, Frank Simmons (Judy) of Lake Charles, LA, Bobby Simmons (Nancy) of Bonaire, GA, Cecil Simmons (Wanda) of Tampa, FL and Tim Simmons (Diane) of Perry, GA; sisters: Ann Cheatham of Savannah, GA, Mary Peterman of Warner Robins, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
