Kirkland, IL- Marjorie Joan (Dorneden) Marshall, 81, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Centerville, GA on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, 309 South 5th St., Kirkland, IL 60146. The services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Catherine’s of Genoa with interment immediately following in the church cemetery.
Marjorie was born on September 6, 1936 in Darlington, WI to the late Jacob Edward and Annette Cecilia (McQuaid) Dorneden. She was retired from General Telephone & Electronics Corporation where she worked as a machinist. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Sylvester Marshall; son: James Marshall; brothers: Bernard & Patrick Dorneden; son-in-law: Michael Becker; grandson: Jeremy Jackson and great-granddaughter: Adeline Mintz.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Helen Becker of Centerville, GA and Michael Marshall (Carla) of Savannah, IL; grandchildren: Aleia Chambers (Dan) of Kirkland, IL, Cecilia Mintz (Nathan) of Bellflower, IL, Corinne Becker (Alex Klus) of Pontiac, IL, Caitlyn Becker (Pat Pfeiffer) of Kirkland, IL, Michelle Marshall of Rockford, IL, Lindsay Powell of Rockford, IL, Elizabeth Mitchell (J.T.) of Tennessee, Chelsea Marshall of Fort Atkinson, WI, Jaime Marshall of Kirkland, IL and Justin Jackson (Tasha) of Savannah, IL; 13 great-grandchildren; 6 brothers, 1 sister and her special friend: Mavis Davidson of Belvedere, IL.
