Obituary for Martin Collis "Marty" Griggs
Springfield, GA – Martin “Marty” Collis Griggs, born September 7,1974, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday 17,2022 between 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 64 Goose Hollow Rd, Reynolds. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 10:00 at Butler United Methodist Church with interment immediately following at Butler Memorial Cemetery.
Marty was born in Columbus, Ga. to late Henry Clay Griggs, Sr. and the late Adriane Griggs (Downs). He graduated from Taylor County High School. Marty worked as a field service tech and a heavy machinery mechanic at United Rentals, Savannah, GA. If he wasn’t fishing, you could find him racing RC remote control cars with his son John. He also enjoyed coaching John’s football, Emily’s girl scouts and musical concerts. Marty was a devoted father and loved his children. Second to his children was his love of Goose Hollow his childhood homestead. He was always smiling and laughing and wanted everyone to be happy.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sandra Faye Griggs (White); daughter Emily Rebecca Griggs and son John Henry Griggs; sister Cynthia “Cyndi” Griggs Melton; brother Henry “Buddy” Clay Griggs Jr.
