Obituary for Matthew Jackson "Jack" Craft Jr.

Haynesville, GA – Matthew Jackson “Jack” Craft, Jr., 74, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, GA. Services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Haven of Hope Spirit Led Church, 806 Grovania Rd., Hawkinsville, GA 31036 with interment immediately following in Haynesville Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Pastor Rusty Sumner will be officiating the services.
Jack was born on August 9, 1948, in Bristol, VA to the late Matthew Jackson Craft, Sr. and the late Lilly Della (Whiston) Craft. He was a truck driver with Advanced Drainage Systems in Perry, GA until his retirement. Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting and just being in the outdoors. He enjoyed being a mechanic, repairing and rebuilding engines of all kinds, loved animals, but his greatest love was his family. Jack was a faithful member of Haven of Hope Spirit Led Church, where he looked forward to serving and worshipping the Lord. In addition to his parent, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Coy Craft and a sister, Linda Bays.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Barbara Jean (Shipes) Craft of Haynesville, GA; daughter: Rhonda Craft Fairchild (Jimmy) of Marshallville, GA; son: Mike Craft of Haynesville, GA; three grandchildren: Matthew Fairchild, Dustin Fairchild, and Ashley Craft; four great-grandchildren; sister: Louise McDowell of Bristol, VA; brothers: Steven Craft, Randall Craft, and James Craft all of Bristol, VA.
