Obituary

Byron, GA – Chief Petty Officer, Michael Kevin Kearney, Sr., USN (Ret.), 60, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7, 2019 at his residence. Services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with Father Fred Nijem officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services and immediately following.
Michael was born on December 7, 1958 in Queens, NY to the late Lillian (McPhee) Kearney. He honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Navy, where he retired as a Chief Petty Officer. Michael continued his service as a civil service employee with the United States Postal Service until his health forced him to retire. He loved fast cars, especially his convertibles. Michael was an avid sports fan, enjoyed drinking his beer and was a sharp dressed man.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Delaine (Vaughn) Kearney of Byron, GA; son: Michael Kevin Kearney, Jr. of Byron, GA; grandson: Chance Kearney of Byron, GA; numerous other family and friends.
Please visit www.burpeescottmemorialchapel.com to sign the online guestbook, view the video tribute and to leave a memorial for the family. With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.

Delaney, you and your family will always be dear to Clyde and I. We are praying without ceasing for your strength. I know it's hard but you're not alone. You have a great family and wonderful friends, to include the Tanksley's. Mike will surely be missed. We grew to love him dearly. God bless you Delaney. Love, peace and comfort from God above.
