Obituary for Opal Dean Stacey (Heflin)

Kathleen, GA – Opal Dean Stacey, 89, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Atrium Health Navicent in Byron, GA. Services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 11:00 am at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with interment immediately following at Magnolia Park Cemetery. The visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services. Pastor Mathew Brown and Elder John Moore will be officiating the services.
Opal was born on December 27, 1932, in Indian Mound, TN to the late Thomas and Elsie Heflin. She worked as a certified nurse’s assistant for many years and retired at Houston Medical Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, working in her flower garden, fishing, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her eleven brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Martin Stacey (Vicki) and Tony Stacey (Sharon); grandchildren: Heather Hunt (Riley), Holly Thomason (Brandon), Annie Yllander (Reuben), Robin Brown (Matthew), Seth Stacey, Jolynn Allgood (Shannon), and Lacy Nichols (Kyle); great-grandchildren: Benjamin Otto Yllander, Madilynn Opal-Mae Yllander, Renee Brown, Barrett Allgood, Tatum Allgood, Paxton Nichols, and Anniston Nichols.
