Obituary for Patricia Ann Simmons (Aker)

Warner Robins, GA – Patricia Ann (Aker) Simmons, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the Heart of Georgia Inpatient Unit. Services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with Chaplain Gene Saunders officiating. Due to current restrictions and recent outbreak of the Covid-19 virus, the family has requested that services be private for family only. Those wishing to attend may do so by viewing it live on Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel’s Facebook live page.
Patricia was born on April 11, 1950 in Pineville, KY to the late Harold and Cora (Saylor) Aker. Patricia was a very intelligent and caring teacher. She graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a master’s degree in education. Patricia furthered her studies at Georgia College and State University with a six - year degree. She taught for thirteen years with the Kenton County Board of Education in Park Hills, KY before relocating to Warner Robins, GA, where she taught for twenty-two years for the Houston County Board of Education until her retirement in 2005.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, John Simmons of Warner Robins, GA; daughter: Danielle Byrd Rowland (Reggie) of Chester, GA and several extended family and friends.
