Obituary for Paula Maria Corley (Motz)

Macon, GA – Paula Maria (Motz) Corley, 78, was reunited with her daughter, Kimberly Ann Corley, when she was called to her heavenly home on Friday, November 5, 2021.
Paula was born on August 2, 1943, in Washington, D.C. to the late Joseph and Anastasia (Reich) Motz. Paula grew up in Great Neck, New York. After graduating from Great Neck North High School in 1961, she attended Mercer University to study nursing and graduated from Macon Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. Paula was licensed in three states as a registered nurse (Georgia, California and New York). After a long and fulfilling career in nursing, she retired from Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA. Paula was a very outgoing person who shared her enthusiasm, love and generosity in her community and church by volunteering and serving in various civic groups, organizations and clubs.Paula was an enthusiastic sports fan with a special love for football that she shared with her sons. Her favorite college team was Notre Dame and her favorite athlete was Tom Brady. Paula was very artistic and enjoyed painting and doing crafts. She had an enormous love for life and was always up for travel, shopping, dining, plays and loved spending time with her family.
She was a resident at Carlyle Place and her family were often told by many of the staff that Ms. Paula was one of their favorite residents. Paula possessed great strength and endurance and a zest for life. She had beautiful smile and gracious spirit that she openly shared with everyone. To know her was to fall in love with her! In addition to her parents and daughter, Paula was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Alton Corley, Jr. Left to cherish her incredible memory are her two sons Walter Joseph Corley (Lisa) of Warner Robins, GA and
Matthew Brian Corley of Warner Robins, GA, her grandsons Timothy Connor Thomas (Carol Ann) of Columbia, SC and Jeffrey Greer Thomas (Meagan) of Columbia, SC, her sister Regina Taslimi (Kamal) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, her brother Stephen Motz (Peggy) of Hudson Oaks, TX, nieces Gwen Stovall, Jana Miller, Susan Litten, Sima Taslimi, and Paree Lambert and nephews

The viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. A funeral Mass celebrating Paula’s life and the love her family has for her will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment immediately following at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Father Stephen Pontzer, Father Fred Nijem, and Deacon Jim Hunt will be officiating the services.
