Obituary for Ramona Chancellor (Thomas)

Perry, GA – Ramona Elaine (Thomas) Chancellor, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Houston Medical Center. Due to current covid-19 restrictions and the health and safety of family and friends, the viewing will be on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. The family will be present at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Friday, January 8, 2021. The services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with Reverend Mike Slade officiating. The interment will be private at Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the services.
Ramona was born in Pelham, GA on May 1, 1946 to the late Tom and Josephine Thomas. Years later, she and her brothers moved to Warner Robins, GA with their mother, Josephine, as she was being employed at the hospital, now known as Houston Medical Center.
Ramona was the first graduating class of Northside High School in 1965. Northside was where Ramona met and later married, Mac Clements, who was a teacher and coach. In 1969 Mac and Ramona’s first son was born, whom they named, Daryl Lee Clements, followed by their second son in 1974, Todd Manning Clements. Ramona was a longtime resident of Cordele and Warner Robins.
She loved her church, Second Baptist of Warner Robins. She enjoyed the word preached and taught with her bible open. Ramona had many friends at Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed her life group class and Jan’s teaching.
Ramona had a wonderful sense of humor, she enjoyed laughter and being happy.
Ramona and Jim were approaching seven years of marriage on February 28, 2021. Jim recalls that they were very happy and shared some wonderful memories.
Ramona Chancellor will be forever remembered by her loving husband, Jim; her precious sons: Daryl (Lisa) and Todd Clements; brothers: Bradley (Vicki) and Kenny Thomas; grandchildren: Lindsi, Cassie, Hannah, Christian, Mac, and Charlee.
Jim’s children, Darrin (Annette) Chancellor and Darenda (Matt) Edwards; grandchildren: Dustin (Ashley), Dylan (Allison) and Austin Edwards; great-grandchildren: Waylon, Cooper, Mary Kate, and Ryan.
