Dear Family,

Please accept my condolences. The sting of death is hard to bear. Our Heavenly Father, Jehovah, understands our sorrow. He doesn’t want us hurting. In fact, in His Word, the Bible, He gives us encouragement. It’s explained in His Word about why death and suffering happen. Additionally, He helps us to understand that this was not meant to be. Acts 24:15, in the Bible, notes that there will be a resurrection! Revelation 21:4 mentions that our Creator promises that death, mourning, and pain will be things of the past. What’s more, 1 Corinthians 15:26 confirms that death will be brought to nothing. Imagine that! A world in which there’ll be no more death. Can you picture it?

I am encouraging you to take heart! Currently, your loved one is now resting. But, in the very near future, that loved one will be raised---resurrected---to the prospect of living here, on earth—FOREVER! This is a PROMISE from our Creator, HIMSELF! Isn’t that wonderful, good news? I hope these words of encouragement have done for you what I have intended for them to do. And, that is, to provide you with some comfort, peace, and strength. For further spiritual information and encouragement, I invite you to visit

Dear Rose, Jon and Chris,
Jackie and I have the most wonderful memories of Dick. Everyone of them brings a smile and oftentimes a hearty laugh. His style of humor and sarcasm brightened our day and that of others on many occasions. You will never run into a person who has a bad memory of this outstanding man. It is rare that one finds it impossible to pick just a few wonderful memories however that is exactly the case for me. Whether it was the wonderful dinners, being part of the GT road rally team, the Chefs du Cuisine meetings we attended together and the subsequent drinks at the Dusenburg, Friday night poker with the dirty dozen, flying in the Beach Barron scared that it would be our last day on earth or the 1000 mile road trip that Jackie Dick and I took in a pick up truck to Palm Springs , all were special and there were so many more. A wonderful man, an inspiring teacher, an outstanding chef he was loved by all. I hope you can find peace as I have remembering the good he brought to so many lives and the knowledge that he is free of pain and beginning his eternal life. I know all of us will someday be with him again and that day will be one of great joy.

Dear Gerow family. I am so sorry to have read of the death of Richard. Please accept my sincere condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:4. May God give you and your family comfort in His promise that soon we will never experience losing our loved ones in death and we will be able to see them again once they are resurrected. With deepest sympathy and warmth of heart.

I am Geoff Levy, a Beta Psi Brother of Rich. I had been communicating with Rich for several years on Facebook. we had an on-going dialogue, or political slugfest, which we both enjoyed, to rile each other up. I will surely miss him now. I had no idea of his health condition, as he kept it to himself, and when I didn't hear from him, I assumed he was taking a break for awhile, and was hoping he would get back online. My sincere condolences to the Gerow family, and your memories of your loved one will reside in you forever, to guide you through these difficult times. May you all be well and live your lives as Richard would have wanted you to.
