Obituary for Robert "Bobby" Adams
Robert Adams, 94, went home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2022. Bobby was born in Webster County to the late Arthur Lee Adams and Lillian Cosby Adams, June 14, 1928. Graveside services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 11:00 am at Oaklawn Cemetery in Fort Valley, GA with Reverend Jay Lauritsen officiating. As a child of the Great Depression, Bobby was proud of his country upbringing, where he enjoyed his horse and occasionally raising a steer for auction. He loved telling stories, like the time the auctioneer nearly sold his own steer to him when he nodded to his cousin sitting beside him, that he would take the latest bid. Bobby loved hunting birds and fishing, and admittedly was better at the latter. He would teach his fishing
buddies his technique and was good natured in accepting their teasing when they caught more than he. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
He had no other sweetheart after he met Evelyn Holley. They were married September 18, 1949, and were blessed with 72 years of marriage. He was a happy and contented man. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur Lee Adams, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Holley Adams. a niece Sue McDaniel, two nephews
Barney and Tony Adams. He will be gravely missed by Linda and Eddie Wiggins,
Wayne Holley and Terry Lenderman, Bob Davis, Mary Ford and many other family and friends.
