Byron, GA – Rose Marie (Mitchell) Camp, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, GA. Services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Thomaston Road Church of Christ with Reverend Grover Jewell officiating. Rose was born on September 1, 1940, in Jones County, GA to the late David and Mattie (Newberry) Mitchell. She was a homemaker, a faithful and loving wife, and a wonderful mother to seven children. Rose enjoyed camping, traveling on their Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and she and her sister, Pat visiting with her Waffle House family. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Camp.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Lamar Lawson (Lisa) of Naples, FL, Jeff Lawson (Beverly) of Albany, GA, Thia Lawson of Atlanta, GA, Teresa Hensley (Mark) of Hawkinsville, GA, Daphne Lawson of Hawkinsville, GA, Joe Lawson (April) of Albany, GA, and Marnie Griffin (Marc) of Byron, GA; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister: Sheila Crews of Gray, GA.
